The 402388-2K potentiometer is an Allen-Bradley and Reliance Electric potentiometer that is rated for 15 Horsepower output and 460 Volts AC voltage. It can be installed in a NEMA enclosure and it can operate safely in a relative ambient humidity range of 5 to 95% without condensation. The storage temperature range is -40 to 65 degrees Celsius in a clean and dry environment. The 402388-2K potentiometer consists of controllers and a 3-phase AC motor that work together. It must be connected to the controllers of local remote devices to measure their power and speed. Its frequency normally ranges from 0 to 60 Hertz, but this frequency can be expanded to 240 Hertz with nearly consistent power throughout the frequency range. Internal fuses and internal reactors can handle up to 100,000 Amps of fault current and they are easy to replace. Additionally, there is a line transient protection feature to prevent a power surge from harming the potentiometer that includes a fault reset pushbutton.

The 402388-2K potentiometer has an input current rating of 0 to 20 milliamps at 0 to 10 Volts DC voltage, and it can also support a current range of 4 to 20 milliamps. It is designed to reduce the harmonic current to 20%, and to reduce the fundamental to 6% from 14%, which is useful in dynamic braking, and in input disconnection.
