The Allen-Bradley 22B-D1P4N104 is a PowerFlex 40 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive. This drive is a Sensorless Vector Control (SVC) or Field Oriented Control (FOC) capable drive that is ideally used in applications such as machine tools, fans, pumps, conveyors, and material handling systems. PowerFlex 40 drive are popular with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) as it comes with compact assembly with upgrade options.

The 22B-D1P4N104 input characteristics include 342-528 VAC input voltage range, 1.4 kVA and 1.8 Amperes continuous input current. The drive is capable of providing output power specifically, 0.4 kW or 0.5 HP, continuous output current of 1.4 Amperes and 0-460 VAC output voltage towards the motor.

The 22B-D1P4N104 is designed with integral keypad which permit the drive to be locally operated, for carrying out motor commands such as Start / Stop / Jog control and Frequency Control. The keypad is also equipped with a potentiometer that is integrated to modify the frequency of the motor. This same integral keypad is used to modify configuration of the VFD unit and aid in troubleshooting as it is has an embedded LCD display that functions as the unit’s readout.

Remote operation is possible with the 22B-D1P4N104 by integrating through hardwired signals the embedded input and output channels of the drive that is composed of 3 inputs fixed for START/STOP/REV and 4 Fully Programmable discrete inputs; 4 fully programmable and One (1) - N.O/N.C. dry contact and Two (2) Digital / Optocoupler discrete outputs; Two (2) 0…10V or 4…20 mA (unipolar); One (1) +/- 100V bipolar analog input; One (1) 0-10 VDC / 4-20 mA analog output. Control over communication protocol is also possible through the embedded RS485 communication port.

The 22B-D1P4N104 has an ambient operating temperature range of 10-50oC (14- 122oF). It can be mounted at a maximum altitude of 1000 m (3300 ft.) without derating.
