The 22D-D4P0N104 is part of the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 40P AC drive series. It has 480 Volts 3-phase AC power at 4 Amps, 1.5 kW, and 2 Horsepower. It is suitable for closed-loop control with category 3 safe torque-off. It is cost-effective and it has a compact, flexible design. The drive facilitates control of the motor speed of applications such as diverters, packaging machines, and fiber spinning machines. The 22D-D4P0N104 drive has many convenient features including 2 partially and 5 fully programmable digital inputs, 1 analog I/O, 1 programmable relay and 2 opto outputs. It comes with a panel mounting for easy installation. It has an IP20 open enclosure that protects it against solid objects as little as 12 millimeters in size. An optional IP30 conversion kit is also provided for more environmental protection. It can be effectively used in a noisy environment over long distances because it has an RS-485 communication port. The 22D-D4P0N104 drive has V/Hz, a sensorless vector control, an LCD keypad, and a NEMA/UL Type 4X remote for control flexibility. For operation on ungrounded systems, the MOV can be grounded. Its integral brake resistors are inexpensive and provide dynamic braking capability. The drive also comes with ground fault, motor overload, and transient protection. The 22D-D4P0N104 comes with a built-in Human Interface Module (HIM) used for immediate configuration and operation of the adjustable frequency AC drive. It also comes with an internal Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) brake installed however, this drive has no EMC filter installed.

The 22D-D4P0N104 is sometimes called Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) or Variable Speed Drive (VSD). This equipment significantly increases control efficiency and accuracy while reducing energy consumption.

The 22D-D4P0N104 comes with an integral keypad has that is used to locally configure and operate the drive. The keypad features a Four (4) Digit display with Ten (10) indicator LEDs. The 22D-D4P0N104 supports installation of a panel mount, remote handheld and remote wireless keypad for a more convenient access to the 22D-D4P0N104 adjustable frequency AC drive.

The 22D-D4P0N104 comes with an integral RS485 communication interface allowing networked connection of the drive, allowing remote operation and configuration of the drive. Up to 31 PowerFlex drives may be connected in one segment, along a single master on the network. RS485 network may run up to 4000 meters.
