The 1719-IBN8B is a genuine Allen-Bradley 8-point digital input module. This unit, which belongs to the 1719 series, comes with an unshielded wire (measuring 0.14 to 1.5 millimeters squared). The 1719-IBN8B operates has input supply voltage requirement of 12 Volts DC and it has an unshielded type of wire. This digital input Namur device has a maximum input rating of 15 Kilohertz. A logic setting is available that can be selected for negative as well as for positive settings. The modules operate with a 5 to 500 Hertz frequency range. There is also a simulation mode for service operations. Plus, the module comes with numerous enhanced features that make it a great option for various industrial applications.
The 1719-IBN8B has the ability to automatically detect line faults and alert the users when something is wrong. With this feature, it becomes easier to detect open and short-circuit line faults. Self-monitoring is also available in this Allen-Bradley device’s digital input. Above all, this distributed platform is intrinsically safe and it can only be installed in Class 1 or Zone 2 areas. There is also a diagnostic screen that shows all the module information and data in a tabular form.
The Allen-Bradley 1719-IBN8B is an explosion proof rated device, applicable for Installation in Zone 2 or Class I, Div. 2, or safe areas. This module is a Discrete input module that offers eight (8) channels, compatible for use with mechanical contacts and NAMUR proximity switches. It supports backplane connection to a manufacturer specific bus to standard adapter.
The input rated values for this module comply according to the EN 60947-5-6 (NAMUR) standard. It has a switching point or switching hysteresis of 1.2-2.1 mA, +/- 0.2 mA and voltage of 8.2 Volts. It is built with an internal resistor with a resistance value of 1 kOhms and capable of detecting line fault problem which can be switched On or Off individually for each channel through use of an Add-On Profile (AOP). Additionally, this device is capable of detecting short circuit with reference values of less than 360 Ohms and open-circuit detection with reference values of less that 0.35 mA.
The 1719-IBN8B is designed with LED indicators available on the module’s front panel. Indicators include Power LED (P) which is normally lit Green to depict status of power supply input and Status LED (I) which lit Red when line fault is detected. This module conforms to a variety of standards and specifications. Some of these include electromagnetic compatibility in compliance to EN 61326-1:2013; Degree of protection according to IEC 60529; Environmental test according to EN 60068-2-14; Damaging gas in compliance with EN 60068-2-42; and Shock and vibration resistance per EN 60068-2-27 and EN 60068-2-6, respectively.
