The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF4 Series B Compact I/O analog input module is a voltage/current analog input module from the Compact I/O control system that is designed to convert analog input signals into digital data for storage and retrieval by either Allen-Bradley CompactLogix or MicroLogix 1500 processors. This input module is compatible with the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix controllers and they can be used as an I/O expansion in the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 controllers. The 1769-IF4 Series B module supports a Class 2 rated external 24 Volts DC power supply with a 20.4 to 26.4 Volts DC operating voltage range, and it has a rated working voltage of 30 Volts AC/DC. This module is designed to support any combination of up to 4 current or voltage analog sensors.

The 1769-IF4 Series B module’s high-impedance input channels can be wired for either differential or single-ended inputs. The module has full-scale analog input ratings of ±10.5 Volts DC, -0.5 to 10.5 Volts DC, -0.5 to 5.25 Volts DC, 0.5 to 5.25 Volts DC, 0 to 21 milliAmps, and 3.2 to 21 milliAmps. The 1769-IF4 Series B module has a maximum BUS current draw of 120 milliAmps at 5 Volts DC and 60 milliAmps at 24 Volts DC (0 Amps at 24 Volts DC when a Class 2 level of external power is used). The 1769-IF4 Series B module uses the Delta-Sigma conversion method for analog to digital signal conversion, and its signal response time is configuration and input-filter dependant. It supports auto-configuration on all the enabled channels and on the configuration change between channels. It also supports software input channel configuration. The 1769-IF4 Series B module is capable of performing self-diagnostics on each input channel, and there is isolation between each input group and the backplane.
