The Allen-Bradley 1769-OW8I is a Compact I/O module with Eight (8) normally-open channels. Each channel of this module is individually isolated which permits every channel of this module to operate with different voltage categories.

The module’s backplane current draws are 125 mA at 5.1 Volts and 100 mA at 24 Volts. The 1769-OW8I module has a maximum current of 2.5 Amps per point and 16 Amps per module and a maximum power dissipation of 2.83 Watts. It has a minimum on-state current of 10 mA at 5 Volts DC and a maximum off-state leakage of 0 mA. The operating voltage of this module is 5 to 265 Volts AC/5 to 125 Volts DC. This module also has an operating vibration of 5 G at 10 to 500 Hertz and a relay operating vibration of 2 G. The 1769-OW8I’s operating temperature is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and the non-operating temperature is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. Its relative humidity ranges from 5 to 95%, non-condensing. The Allen-Bradley 1769-OW8I module has LED status indicators available and it has an open-type of enclosure. The compatible cables are 22 to 16 AWG stranded and 22 to 14 AWG solid and the compatible power supplies are the 1769-PA2, 1769-PA4, 1769-PB2, and the 1769-PB4. Note that the users can only mount this module by using a DIN rail or a panel mounting base. When using a DIN rail mount, this module has a relay operating shock of 5 G, an operating shock of 20 G, and a non-operating shock of 30 G. A panel-mounted 1769-OW8I module has a relay operating shock of 7.5 G, an operating shock of 30 G, and a non-operating shock of 40 G. Its operating vibration is 5 G at 10 to 500 Hertz and its relay operating vibration is 2 G. Allen-Bradley 1769 Compact I/O modules can be used with CompactLogix controllers, for expansion I/O in a MicroLogix 1500 controller assembly, with a 1769-ADN DeviceNet adapter, as well as with a 1769-AENTR Ethernet adapter.

The 1769-OW8I is an Allen-Bradley Compact I/O module. This module is compatible with CompactLogix controllers and MicroLogix 1500 controllers. It also supports installation in a remote I/O chassis using 1769-ADN or 1769-AENTR communication modules.

This module primarily features Eight (8) isolated Form A contact channels. With the individual isolation of channels, each channel may be operated at a different voltage level instead of groups isolation. Compatible voltage categories computer for this module are 120 VAC, 240 VAC, 24VDC, 125VDC and other voltages within the operating voltage range of 5…265V AC and 5…265V DC. This relay output module has an 10 ms signal delay for ON and OFF transitions.

This module supports DIN rail or Panel Mounting installation. When terminating input wires to this module, use single conductor wire type Cu-90°C (194°F) with nominal size range of #14 to #22 AWG. For stranded wires, use Cu-90°C (194°F) with wire size range of #16 to #22 AWG. The module’s circuitry is powered by an established connection to the CompactLogix or MicroLogix bus while the individual channel voltages are externally supplied, according to the required voltage types. To ensure that the module will operate, the power supply distance rating must be followed which is Eight (8). If more than 8 modules is needed by the process, install an additional I/O power supply. This module supports CompactLogix power supplies with part numbers 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, 1769-PB4.
