Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1100

The Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1100 PLCs are made for applications that are not demanding by the number of inputs and outputs, and which puts emphasis on high-speed connectivity, accessibility, and the ability to display data from the controller in the web browser. These controllers have 10 digital inputs, 6 digital outputs, and 2 analog inputs. If these are insufficient to support the application according to its design, or the users decide to upgrade the system with more devices in the field after the initial installation, there is a possibility to extend the MicroLogix 1100 systems with up to four 1762 I/O modules. What sets this PLC apart from the competition is its built-in LCD screen on which the controller status is read. The display clearly shows the status of each input and output, and it is possible to display operator messages.

In addition to the 10/100 Mbps EtherNet/IP port for messaging, the MicroLogix 1100 PLCs also have an RS-232/RS-485 combo port and an isolated port that can be used for various point-to-point protocols. During start-up, a welcome screen appears on the LCD that shows information related to the operation of the machine and information about the manufacturer or owner of the equipment. The inputs that this device supports are 120 Volts AC, 24 Volts DC sync/source, analog, thermocouple, and RTD inputs. The outputs can be 120 to 240 Volts AC, 24 Volts DC sourcing, analog, and relay outputs. The devices themselves may be powered by either 120 Volts AC or 12 to 24 Volts DC, depending on the model. The RSLogix 500 programming software is used to create programs and download them to the MicroLogix 1100 PLC devices.
