The 1746SC-INO4VI is a 4-channel isolated analog output with selectable voltage and currents. It is manufactured by spectrum controls and it is to be used with the 1746 processors. The 1746SC-INO4VI is an I/O module. The module has a backplane current requirement of 120 mA at 5 Volts DC and 250 mA at 24 Volts DC when connected without an external power supply. When connecting the module, the users need to select the source of the power supply. This switch is located at the bottom corner of the module’s circuit board. When the switch is set to the rack position, the module will draw power from the backplane of the system, when it is set to the position, it will draw power from the external power supply. The switch module is sensitive to ESD and it must be handled with the ESD protection guidelines. The 1746SC-INO4VI is designed to be operated at an ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and the humidity of the environment should be between 5 and 95%, non-condensing. The module must be installed with the power to the system turned off and the users can refer to the troubleshooting information from the manufacturer for additional support. Users can contact the local technical support center for assistance. The 1746SC-INO4VI is sensitive to electrostatic discharge and it is important to make sure to prevent any discharge to protect the equipment from damage. The Spectrum Control’s module with catalog number 1746SC-INO4VI is an analog output module with four (4) individually isolated channels. Each channel of this module is compatible with 0-20 mA, 0-21 mA and 4-20 mA current signals as well as 0-5 V, 1-5 V, 0-10 V and ±10 V signals.

The 1746SC-INO4VI is compatible for use with the SLC500 Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Each channel comes with a built-in digital to analog converter circuit with output resolution of 16-bits, specifically, 366 nA per count for current and 320 uA per count for voltage. It is also equipped with advanced features including extended output ranges, auto-calibration, programmable limits, and programmable safe states.

The module has an output accuracy of 0.08% of full scale @ 25 degrees Celsius and 0.10% of full scale at 60 degrees Celsius for current; 0.10% of full scale @ 25 degrees Celsius and 0.35% of full scale @ 60 degrees Celsius for voltage signal. It has a non-linearity rating of 0.02% of full scale.

The 1746SC-INO4VI has an operating temperature requirement of 0 °C to 60 °C (32 °F to 140 °F) and storage temperature of -40 °C to 85 °C (-40 °F to 185 °F) with relative humidity of 5 to 95% (non-condensing). It has a maximum thermal dissipation of 5 Watts and certified by UL/cUL Listed ANSI ISA 12.12.01 (Class I, Div 2, Groups ABCD), C.

When terminating signal wires to this module, recommended cable is Belden 8761 or equivalent cable. This cable is a Shielded twisted-pair cable with #22 wire size.
