The module can be used as an adapter or slave, on the RIO link as well as the master of s remote expansion chassis. We are able to communicate through the 1747-ASB using a baud rate of 57.2k, 115.6k and 230.4k.

Check to see that the RIO cable is properly terminated on both ends.
Visually inspect RIO communications cable for damages if possible.

Visually check the module for damage such as burnt out components broken board as well as terminating pins that insert into the backplane.

We configure the ASB modules dip switch settings (check publication for assistance).
Slide the 1747-ASB module into the rack 1746-A4 rack in slot 1, along with the 1746-OW8 in slot 2.

Configure the scanner module to communicate at 57.6 kb, configure G-data to ¼ rack as well.
Download the program to the processor once configuration has been completed.
Once online the COMM light will illuminate green and the status screen will say run.

If the outputs turns on and the card tell us we are in run mode then the 1747-ASB module should be good, be sure to check publication for additional information.
