The Allen-Bradley 1783-BMS20CL is an Allen-Bradley Stratix 5700 industrial managed Ethernet switch. This Ethernet switch is ideally used in implementing Ethernet I/P networks. It has Sixteen (16) Ports, composed of Twelve (12) Fast Ethernet Copper ports, Two (2) Gigabit Ethernet combo ports and Two (2) SFP slots for Fast Ethernet. The 1783-BMS20CL switch is a 20-port Ethernet switch. In supervisor mode, the switch can gather information from the ring and can manage the DLR status and machine-level DLR diagnostics. The supervisor node also provides alternate routes when it detects a ring break. DLR is used in high-performance network applications that cannot tolerate network outage. Of the 20 switch ports, 16 are RJ45 Fast Ethernet ports, 2 are Fast Ethernet combo ports, and the remaining 2 are Fast Ethernet fiber ports. The 1783-BMS20CL switch runs on DC input ranging from 12 to 48 Volts DC. The minimum and maximum current draw of the switch are 0.5 Amps and 3 Amps, respectively. This managed Ethernet switch supports implementation of Linear, Star, Device Level Ring and other topologies to fit industrial Ethernet networking requirements. This managed Ethernet switch has Eight (8) Fast Ethernet copper ports and Two (2) Gigabit Ethernet ports.

This Ethernet switch does not require a backplane for installation. It is a stand-alone device externally powered by a power supply unit that provides 0.5…3.0 A maximum Current @ 12-48VDC Voltage range with Class 2/Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV).
