The 2711P-RCH is a CompactFlash to PCMCIA Adapter manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is an accessory for Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus or PanelView Plus CE terminals. It is designed to make data from portable flash memory mass storage devices used with terminals available for connection to a personal computer. It works simply and users need only to insert the Compact Flash memory card into the 2711P-RCH adapter and it comes to be compatible with any device fitted with a PCMCIA PC card slot. The adapter can read 3 CF cards available as an accessory for PanelView terminals – the 2711P-RC2 128 MB Blank CompactFlash Card, the 2711P-RC3 256 MB Blank CompactFlash Card, and the 2711P-RC4 512 MB Blank CompactFlash Card. All of these CF cards are designed with 50-pin female connector. The PCMCIA connector has 68 pins and this is why there is a need for 2711P-RCH CompactFlash to PCMCIA adapter to transfer data from the CF card to the PC.
To read the CF card from PanelView terminal, users have to eject it first from the CF card slot located on the back side of PanelView terminal. Put the card into the Allen-Bradley 2711P-RCH adapter and connect it to the PC’s PCMCIA slot. The CF card must be inserted into the 2711P-RCH adapter with both Allen-Bradley signs turned in the same direction. When connected to your PC, this assembly will appear as a new drive. Users do not need to install any drivers on the host system that supports PCMCIA PC Card specification. This device is intended to be used at temperatures from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit).
