The Profibus Terminal communicates using the Profibus DP standard for high-speed (up to 1.5M baud) data transmission to Siemens® and other controllers that support the Profibus DP protocol. Profibus is a non-Rockwell Automation network that uses the polling principle for communication. It is a remote I/O protocol consisting of a DP Master(s) and DP slave(s). The terminals act as slaves on a Profibus DP network. As a slave on the Panelview Profibus network, it responds to data requests and implements a defined set of functions.
