The Allen Bradley brand has replaced its cold-cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) backlit display modules with a new series Light-Emitting Diode (LED) backlight display modules. These series of new LEDs display modules are for use in PanelView Plus 6 and PanelView Plus 700 to 1500 systems. The PanelView Plus 6 through 700 to 1500 terminals use modular components (which can also be used across all platforms) to achieve versatile system configurations that create valuable options.
The 2711P-RDK7CK is one of these Light-Emitting Diode (LED) backlight display modules. As with all the display modules, each has a series letter in addition to its catalog number; this Series letter is shown on the back of the display. When replacing a CCFL display with the 2711P-RDK7CK, the terminal’s firmware must first be upgraded for the device to function properly. The CCFL series display module must be used when upgrading the terminal’s firmware. The use of any other display module for the firmware upgrade may result in damage to the display module. After downloading the appropriate firmware upgrade for the terminal to which the 2711P-RDK7CK is to be connected, upgrading the firmware can be done in a number of ways. Using the Firmware Upgrade Wizard, upgrading can be completed from a storage device, such as Secure Digital (SD) card, CompactFlash Card (CF), or a USB flash drive. Upgrading the terminal can also be done over a direct network connection. The 2711P-RDK7CK is a 7-inch color conformal coated display module with keypad input that belongs to the “E” Series of the LED Display Module series. This unit replaces Series D or earlier of the CCFL Series Displays.
