2711P-RN22C

The 2711P-RN22C PanelView RS-232 communication module is designed and produced by Allen-Bradley. This isolated module is compatible with PanelView Plus 400 and PanelView Plus 600 terminals. One terminal from these series can consist of a base-configured unit, a DC or AC power supply module, a communication module, and a grayscale or color display. The 2711P-RN22C module can be used to upgrade the terminal for RS-232 communication purposes or it can be replaced in the future if different communication options are required. The isolated RS-232 communication module is easy to install directly on the back of the base-configured unit. The examples of the possible uses of this communication module in terminal connections to PLCs and network interface modules include connection to SLC 500 controllers like the 5/03, 5/04, and 5/05 controllers with the DF1 protocol or DH-485 protocol, connection to SLC 500 controllers like the 5/01 or 5/02 controller with AIC+ modules and the DH-485 protocol, connection to PLC-5, PLC-5C, and PLC-5E controllers with the DF1 protocol, connection to MicroLogix 1400 and 1500LRP controllers with the DF1 protocol or DH-485 protocol, connection to MicroLogix 1000, 1100, 1200, 1400, and 1500LSP controllers with the DF1 protocol or the DH-485 protocol, and connection to CompactLogix controllers with the DF1 protocol or DH-485 protocol.

To install the Allen-Bradley 2711P-RN22C communication module, first, disconnect the power supply connector from the terminal on which communication module will be attached. The next step is to remove the label that hides the connectors on the base unit that is intended for the installation of the 2711P-RN22C module. Position the communication module so that its connector is aligned with the connector on the PanelView Plus base unit. Push down the 2711P-RN22C module until both modules are firmly connected. Finally, tighten the 3 screws that are provided to secure the connection.
