The Allen-Bradley 1394-AM04-A is a 1394 servo drive axis module and part of the 1394 GMC turbo system. It belongs to series A and B but it is unchangeable with the 1394C-AM04 Series C axis module. It is an inverter and has no heatsink to convert the DC power supplied by the system module to a variable AC voltage in a 1394 system. One axis module is needed for every servo motor. This is necessary to run the 1394 system. The 1394-AM04-A can be connected to a system module with its slide-and-lock mechanism. This mechanism gets rid of up to 100 wire terminals. Each module can be configured with up to four axis modules, each interfacing to a motor. This module features an input voltage of 530 to 680 Volts DC and 4.5 to 9 Amps of current.
The 1394-AM04-A also features power dissipation of 2.4/3 - 4.8/6 kW at 380 to 460 Volts. It has 98% efficiency, a static gain (RMS A/mV) of 2.6, and a 110-µF capacitance. Its speed regulation is 0-0.05% of the base speed with a 100% torque disturbance. Users can use this part in all new applications that require up to four high-performance cycle axes. It can also be used in applications that require frequent power cycling or power monitoring. Some of the applications that can work with this module include material handling, high-speed packaging, press load/unload and converting. This module supports a CNC Interface, SERCOS, and Analog Servo Configurations. These systems give direct line connection for 360 and 480 Volts AC 3-phase input power, efficient IGBT power conversion, and module-to-module connection systems. The 1394-AM04-A provides significant interconnect savings and panel space. It features highly integrated surface mount circuitry. It also offers digitally adjusted velocity and current loop compensation.
