The supported PLC platform of this axis module are SLC 5/03, 5/04 or 5/05 processors. Programming is simplified as this system module is microprocessor based. To connect to an SLC controller, the required cables are 1746-C7 or 1746-C9. The 1746-C7 measures 152.44 mm or 6 inches while 1746-C9 measures 914.4 mm or 36 inches. These cables are also used as SLC rack interconnect modules.
When mounting this system modules, appropriate clearances must be observed for proper air flow and ventilation. The Top clearance must have a free space of 50.8 mm or 2.0 inches clearance, Side clearance of 10.0 mm or 0.4 inch, and 25.4 mm or 1-inch clearance for the cover tab to allow opening and closing. The cover tab comes along with the system module. The terminator must also be considered and provided a clearance of 76.2 mm or 3.00 inches. If the 1394-SJT05-T system module will be used to interface with an SLC controller, an additional depth of 101.6 mm or 4 inches to the left side of the module must be provided to allow insertion of 1746-C7 or 1746-C9 cable.
