The 1394C-SJT05-C-RL includes Wiring System, Axis and Shunt Modules, and Motors for all systems. When grounding the 1394 System, it is highly recommended that all the equipment and machine components or the processing system have a common earth ground point connected to their chassis. A grounded system is necessary to provide a safe ground path protection against short circuit. Grounding modules and panels is necessary to minimize possible shock hazards to personnel. Damage to equipment can be caused by short circuits, an accidental connection to the equipment chassis of energized conductors, and transient over-voltages.
The National Electrical Code includes some basic grounding requirements, definitions, and conventions. Follow all the applicable local codes and regulations to safely ground systems.
These components use IEC terminals for power connections. The system and axis modules can be wired using the power terminal block conveniently located in the front of the system and axis modules; the maximum wire size allowed in the terminal blocks is 3.3 millimeters.
In order to gain access to the input power terminals, the user must open the system module door which can be found at the lower right corner.
For wiring System Module Power, the system module provides terminating points for the AC power input, feedback, logic power, and various other control signals. The power is transferred by slide-and-lock mechanism and commutation signals to each axis module.
