The Eaton/Westinghouse KD2225 is a 2-pole molded case circuit breaker. The breaker has its amperage rated at 225 Amps. The KD2225 uses a fixed thermal and a fixed magnetic trip type which feature the LI-Long-time and instantaneous trip functions. For the terminals, the KD2225 contains terminals on both the line and load sides. The circuit breaker allows for the replacement of its internal components, including the trip unit when it is ordered as a separate part. However, if the KD2225 is purchased as a complete breaker which is factory sealed, the trip unit and its internal components are not replaceable. The Cutler-Hammer KD2225 can reach its optimum performance only when it is operated at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and a frequency of between 50 and 60 Hertz.

The KD2225 belongs to the Eaton Series C line of circuit breakers. Additionally, the KD2225 uses a molded case to protect its internal components from harsh environmental conditions like moisture. The KD2225 is meant to provide circuit protection when a 1-phase power supply is used. The circuit breaker has a rated maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC. The Eaton KD2225 Series C molded case circuit breaker has it has an interrupt rating capped at 35 kAIC at a voltage of 480 Volts AC, 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC, and capped at 25 kAIC at 600 Volts AC. The maximum operating voltage for the circuit breaker when it is used in a DC-powered circuit stands at 250 Volts DC.
