About KD3400T56W

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KD3400T56W Digital Programmable Electronic Circuit Breaker is a Series C, Frame K, Electronic Circuit Breaker with complete monitoring and diagnosing feature, used for over and short-circuit protection in a variety of low voltage distribution applications. This circuit features Enhanced RMS current sensing capabilities with adjustable long and short time pickups and also a self-diagnosing LED indicator module. It has a current rating of 400 Amps, with 35 KAIC current interrupting capacity, and it is built for applications with a 600 Volt AC maximum line operating voltage. The KD3400T56W is an electronic circuit breaker without line or load side terminal option, and it comes with a 3-pole design suitable for 3-phase and single phase wiring, depending on application needs.  It has an electronic trip unit with 5 to 10 current setting, programmed electronically to suit users application needs, and also has an over temperature trip capability which prevents overload in the event of a temperature exceeding the nominal setting.



The KD3400T56W provides ground fault protection, with a 100 to 500-millisecond flat delay time range, and it comes with a thermal memory, which provides the circuit breaker with the ability to remember the delay timing sequence of recent overcurrent trip event, and uses such information to impose shorter delay time on subsequent overcurrent trips. The KD3400T56W has a long delay pick range of 0.4 to 1 of plug rating, and a short-delay pickup value of 150% to 800% of the long-delay setting. It has a long delay time range of 2 seconds to 24 seconds, with a shorter timing of 100 milliseconds to 500 milliseconds, and it comes with a discriminator. It also has an instantaneous fault setting, with an override value set just below the nominal rating, and a delay pick up of 200 to 800% of plug rating. The KD3400T56W has an LED module with the ability to output cause of trip information via a test port, and it is capable of performing complete system monitoring (current, power, and energy, power factor, power quality inclusive). This device is designed with an easy to read, 4-digit alpha-numeric OPTIMizer, or BIM with LCD display, and it communicates via the Eaton Cutler-Hammer PowerNet kit. The KD3400T56W weighs approximately 5.2 kilograms and has a total mounting dimension of 149.7 x 257.3 x 104.1 millimeters.
