About KT2150T

The KT2150T Thermal-Magnetic Trip Unit is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer trip unit assembly in the Series C Frame K line of breakers, that is used for circuit protection in most low-voltage systems. This trip unit is 80% rated, like every Eaton Cutler-Hammer Thermal-Magnetic trip units, and it features high-speed blow-open action, made possible by electromechanical force. The KT2150T is a 2-pole deigned trip unit, with 150 Amps of nominal current rating, and with an interrupt capacity of 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. It is also designed for applications with a maximum operating voltage of  Volts AC, and like every Frame K trip unit, it is HACR rated and it can be used in reverse feed wiring.



The KT2150T thermal-magnetic trip unit, it has adjustable thermal and magnetic trip elements, and its magnetic trip element can be adjusted in the field up to 10 times the nominal rating. It uses a line current-heated bimetal strip for thermal trip action, and because this bimetal strip deflects upon a prolonged overload, causing a very fast acting trip action. It also provides magnetic trip action using a series of connected electromagnets, which causes an instantaneous trip action because the circuit current exceeds the designated value. The KT2150T is 80% rated within an ambient temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius or less, and it can be calibrated in the field for a higher ambient temperature (50 degrees Celsius maximum). It is designed for use within a 0 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range, and it will start de-rating at more than 6000 feet above sea level. The KT2150T has a net weight of 0.70 kilograms (trip unit only), and it is built to meet the CSA and UL standards.
