The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HMDL3800F features a 300 to 800 Amps current rating, an interrupting rating of 42-kiloampere at 125 to 250 Volts DC and of 35-kiloampere at 600 Volts DC (UL), and it is configured with 3 poles and bolt-on mounting. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HMDL3800F is contained in the HMDL model frame housing. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HMDL3800F pre-installed thermal memory protects the system from cumulative overheating due to repeated overcurrent events that may occur in quick succession.

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HMDL3800F has an installed multi-wire connector that is used to distribute the load from the thermal magnetic circuit breaker to other multiple devices without the use of separate distribution terminal blocks. A ground fault alarm is remotely mounted on the Eaton Cutler-Hammer HMDL3800F with a combination indicating a light or test button that will light up when the circuit breaker trips.
