1321-RWR100-DP
The Allen-Bradley 1321-RWR100-DP line reactor is designed to serve as a power conditioning device that effectively limits the transmission of extreme over-voltages that are generated as a by-product of the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) with the IGBT's used in AC drives. They are made to be installed at the output of an AC drives to reduce the over-voltages applied to the cables and the motor, therefore controlling the appearance of the reflected waves in the system. The connection process is very straightforward, with clear markings for installation by a qualified technician.

The 1321-RWR100-DP line reactor is designed to serve as a power conditioning device that effectively limits the transmission of extreme over-voltages generated as a by-product of the circuitry of insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) for Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) in the inverter section of the majority of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). These over-voltages, if left unattended, can cause electrical arches in the windings of the motors, known as partial discharges or a corona effect, and these arches can damage insulation and rendering the systems unusable. Another consequence of overvoltages produced in the VFDs is the reflected wave phenomenon, in which as a result of the different impedance levels of the cables and motors, high spikes of energy are reflected to the drive, accelerating the deterioration of the system’s insulation.
Most VFDs use line reactors like the 1321-RWR100-DP line reactor in their IGBts because of their reduced power consumption and faster switching capabilities. IGBT’s are so fast that they can switch between on and off states in microseconds, and even though this is good for modulating pulse signals, it causes an accumulation of energy on the cables and windings because there is not enough time for them to charge and discharge as a regular capacitor would do. A solution to these problems would be to install the 1321-RWR100-DP line reactor at the output of the VFD to reduce the over-voltages applied to the cables and the motor, therefore controlling the appearance of reflected waves in the system. Depending on the current rating of the line reactor, it can be supplied with integrally mounted terminal blocks, box lugs, or solid copper tabs. The installation process of the 1321-RWR100-DP line reactor is very straightforward, with clear instructions for simplified installation by a qualified technician.
