The 1336-MOD-KC005 dynamic brake module is a heavy-duty 1336 AC drive-compatible brake module from Allen-Bradley. It comes with a self-contained NEMA Type 1 enclosure for device protection. It has a 500 to 575 Volts AC voltage rating, 52.7 Ohms of dynamic brake resistance, and 2063 Watts of average wattage dissipations. Its weight is approximately 6.8 kilograms and its ambient operating temperature range is from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius. This IP 20 rated braking module is not recommended for use in an atmosphere with corrosive or hazardous dust, vapor, and gas. The 1336-MOD-KC005 dynamic brake module can be used with the B003 to B250 and C003 to C250 1336 drives and B003 to B250 1336VT drives.

The 1336-MOD-KC005 dynamic brake module consists of a chopper transistor with related control components and a dynamic brake resistor. The enclosure of the module has 2 lights on the front to indicate the operation. They are DC Power light to indicate that the DC power has been applied to the module, and the Brake On light to indicate the operation of the chopper module. When selecting the rating for this module, the motor power rating, speed, torque, and details regarding the regenerative mode of operation will be required. For this module, DC brake power is supplied from the drive's DC Bus. When installing the brake enclosure, make sure to install it in a vertical position. When an application needs more than one 1336-MOD-KC005 dynamic brake module enclosure, the first enclosure must be mounted within 3 meters of the drive. A maximum of 1.5 meters of distance must be maintained between the brake enclosures.
