The Allen-Bradley 1336-RFB-30-A is a drive filter unit. The 1336-RFB-30-A drive filter minimizes the radio frequency conducted emissions into the ground wiring and the supply lines. To be able to achieve this function, the drive filter unit has to be installed between the drive input terminal and the incoming AC line. The 1336-RFB-30-A drive filter belongs to Series E and it has a power dissipation rating of 14 Watts and a three-phase voltage rating of between 200 and 240 Volts AC. The drive filter unit is shipped together with 1 filter, 1 terminal block housing, standoffs, and 3 nuts.

It is advisable to use a solid ground connection when installing the 1336-RFB-30-A to minimize the effects of ground leakage currents. Additionally, the filter and the drive should be mounted close to each other and on a common backplane. This ensures a positive electrical bond is achieved. The space between the two is dictated by the conduit box. The 1336-RFB-30-A, as with other RFI filter units, should be used exclusively with AC lines which are nominally balanced. When installing the drive filter module, ensure that ventilation is observed by following the set spacing guidelines. Additionally, the power supply should be disconnected during installing or servicing the module to prevent injury of personnel or the 1336-RFB-30-A RFI drive filter. The 1336-RFB-30-A’s Radio Frequency Interface (RFI) is designed to be used with the 1336S/F-AQF30 - AQF50 and the 1336E-AQF30 - AQF50 adjustable frequency AC drives. The drive filter unit utilizes the A3 frame. The unit should be mounted in an EMC compatible enclosure.
