The Allen-Bradley 1336-T-SP8A transformer is a transformer (stand-alone only) in the family of 1336 spare parts series for use with the 1336 AC drives. The transformers are usually found in the drives’ chassis bottom left corner. When assembling the transformer, the users can fit the transformer without removing the Inverter housing assembly. To change the Allen-Bradley 1336-T-SP8A transformer, the users need to disconnect the power supply to the drive, find the transformer on the drive chassis bottom left corner, and remove the transformer taps. The 1336 Force drives are suited for direct connections by using the appropriate voltage on a 3-phase AC power line. However, some power line statuses may result in a malfunction of the component in the drive's input power. In such cases, a transformer is installed to provide voltage protection.
There are conditions that determine the use of the Allen-Bradley 1336-T-SP8A transformer. If there are connected capacitors meant for power factor corrections, then the connection of a transformer between the drive input and the capacitor bank must be made, and this should also be done when the AC line is experiencing voltage spikes or power interruptions all the time. The 1336-T-SP8A transformer requires an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) for an IP 00 open enclosure, or 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) for an IP 20 NEMA Type 1 enclosure, or 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) for an IP 65 NEMA Type 4 enclosure. The appropriate storage temperature ranges between -40 and 70 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95%.
