The Allen Bradley 1336R-PRE-VB078-AA 1336 REGEN line regeneration package with included Precharge (PRE) presents a line regenerative option for Allen Bradley drives from 1336 family. The 1336 REGEN line regeneration package can be used for various applications thanks to two basic modes of operation, which are Regenerative DC Bus Supply and Regenerative Braking. Depending on the user needs and requirements, one of these operation modes can be chosen to fit the application. The main difference between these two operation modes is the fact that each mode requires different hardware components, meaning that the total cost of implementation could increase or decrease depending on the mode the user chooses. The regenerative DC bus supply mode of 1336 REGEN package is primarily used to supply monitoring and regenerative current to common bus drives. The regenerative brake mode is used for removal of the energy from the standard 1336 AC drive’s DC bus as it is reset to the utility.

By default, the 1336 REGEN line regeneration package comes with parameter 1 set to the Regenerative Brake mode and it needs to be reset for Regenerative DC Bus Supply applications. The package can be programmed by setting the factory parameter for operation under different conditions. The 1336R-PRE-VB078-AA line regeneration package has an IP20 NEMA 1 enclosure for general purpose and it consists of two main components. The components include a converter and a precharge unit. The converter is used for an AC to DC transformation of three phase input/output power source. The main purpose of the precharge unit is to limit inrush current and facilitate phase of the AC line voltage and send information to the converter. The 1336 REGEN line regeneration package is intended to be used with any 380 to 480 Volt drive from the 1336 line of products. The 1336R-PRE-VB078-AA has a nominal current rating of 62.3 Kilowatts and an amperage of 78.2 Amps.
