The Allen-Bradley 1336R-VB180-AA line regeneration drive is a line regenerative drive for the 1336 Impact, Force, Plus, and Plus II variable frequency AC drive families that is designed to remove excess regenerative energy from the drive’s common DC bus and divert it back onto the 3-phase AC utility line. The 1336R-VB180-AA drive offers operator 2 distinct modes of operation (the regenerative DC Bus supply mode and the regenerative brake mode), and the choice of the selected mode of operation is greatly influenced by the user's application needs. In the regenerative DC Bus supply mode, the 1336R-VB180-AA line regenerative drive supplies both regenerative and motoring power to the common bus drive depending on the application needs, and in the regenerative brake mode, it is used as a means to remove extra braking energy from the DC bus, and then it returns excess power back to the main 3-phase AC utility.
The 1336R-VB180-AA drive is supplied as a standard regenerative pack consisting of a converter module that converts 3-phase AC input into DC output, and a precharge unit that limits the inrush current on start-up and provides the converter module with information on the AC line voltage phase and magnitude. The 1336R-VB180-AA drive also requires a 3% 1321 line reactor that can be ordered separately for efficient performance. The 1336R-VB180-AA drive has a 3-phase operating voltage range of 380 to 460 Volts AC (at 50 to 60 Hertz) with 180.4 Amps of nominal input current rating and 143.7 Kilowatts (180 Horsepower) output power ratings. The 1336R-VB180-AA drive is a D-frame package with an IP 20 (NEMA Type 1) enclosure rating and an operating temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
