The 1336-BDB-SP23A printed circuit board or PCB is a gate drive PCB for use with the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1336 family of adjustable frequency drives. The gate drive PCB is compatible with the 1336 Plus (S), Plus II (F), Force (T), and Impact (E) drives models. The gate drive PCB can be operated with a voltage rating of 575 Volts AC, with a 50 Horsepower output power rating, and a frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz. The 1336-BDB-SP23A gate drive PCB provides power to the main control and isolation boards by turning the IGBT brake circuit on and off. The PCB is installed between the main control board and chassis, with a gate drive mounting plate providing separation between them.

The 1336-BDB-SP23A gate drive PCB connection to other boards is established with the use of jumper wires and ribbon cables. Adjustable frequency drives with Frame Size B and 1 to 15 Horsepower and 240 Volts, 1 to 30 Horsepower and 380 Volts, or 1 to 20 Horsepower and 600 Volts power ratings have their input and output power connections made through the TB1 terminal block. Drives with higher Horsepower ratings and Frame Sizes C, D, E, G, and H have TB1 terminal blocks that can be found on the bottom of the drive. The proper disassembly sequence must be observed when replacing the PCB gate drive. When replacing the board, remove the 1336-BDB-SP23A drive board mounting plate first. The lockout power must be disconnected from the drive and bus voltage must read 0 Volts before attempting disassembly. The presence of the bus voltage can be verified by measuring the +DC and -DC levels on terminal block TB1. Failure to follow the proper uninstallation sequence may result in death or serious injury. Typical errors that may mean that the PCB needs to be replaced are error messages or when the bus voltage is unavailable even if the power is applied.
