The 1336-BDB-SP42A board is a spare part for the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1336 family of adjustable frequency drives. This unit is a PCB that is compatible for use with 1336 Plus (S), Plus II (F), Force (Impact), and Impact (T) drives. The PCB provides power to the main control and isolation boards. including the IGBT brake circuit. This unit can be used with a voltage rating of 575 Volts AC and it comes with a 250 Horsepower rating. The normal operating frequency of the PCB is 50 to 60 Hertz. The 1336-BDB-SP42A PCB switches the IGBT brake on and off and it converts a low power input into a high current that is used by the IGBT brake. This unit has a dedicated mounting plate that completes the PCB assembly. The assembly is installed between the main control board and the chassis.
The 1336-BDB-SP42A board connects to the drive’s mainboard and other circuitry with ribbon cables and jumper wires. The input and output power are made through terminal block TB1 on the gate drive board for drives with Frame Size B and power ratings of 1 to 15 Horsepower and 240 Volts, 1 to 30 Horsepower and 380 Volts, or 1 to 20 Horsepower and 600 Volts. Drives with higher horsepower ratings and frame sizes C, D, E, G, and H have TB1 terminal blocks that are located on the bottom of the drive where both the input and output power connections need to be made. During the removal of the 1336-BDB-SP42A board, the drive board mounting plate must be removed first. Ensure that lockout power is disconnected from the drive before disassembly. Verify the presence of voltage by measuring the +DC and -DC values on terminal block TB1. Initiate drive service only when the bus voltage has been discharged to 0 Volts. Typical errors that may mean that the gate driver board needs to be replaced are Error display EE INIT READ 53 messages or when the bus voltage is not present even if the power is applied.
