The Allen-Bradley 1336-BDB-SP6A PCB Gate Drive Board is a replacement or spare part gate drive board for the Allen-Bradley 1336 STE Plus, Force, and Impact drives. This board serves as the amplifier of a low input signal,  providing control for an SCR. It is located in the middle of the drive’s main chassis and the main control board. The 1336-BDB-SP6A PCB is backward-compatible, and can it be replaced with the 1336-CONV-SP6A Series A to Series C upgraded kit. This board is made for the 1336 Plus, Force, and Impact drives with nominal voltage ratings of 460 Volts AC and output power ratings of 30 Horsepower. The 1336-BDB-SP6A PCB comes as a spare part kit with a single board. After replacing a power module, it is recommended to test the board by using a meter. After setting the meter to the diode mode, check diodes VR1 to VR6 and compare the readings with the standard readings. Also, check fuses F1 to F3 for open conditions, and change the board if there are any open conditions.



 



The 1336-BDB-SP6A PCB can be installed via the following steps. First, turn off the power, second, inspect the terminal TB1 -DC and +DC points for zero voltage, third, disconnect the main control board to gain access to the old gate drive board, fourth, remove jumper connectors J2, J6, J7, J8, J8, and J10 and the TB6 fan connector from the board, fifth, remove the old board and replace it with the new one, sixth, re-attach the jumper connectors and the main control board, and seventh, power up the drive.
