The Allen-Bradley 1336-PB-SP22C board is a precharge board for DC input PowerFlex 700 drives from Allen-Bradley. The PowerFlex 700 series devices are available for output power ratings ranging from 0.5 to 150 Horsepower and they support advanced features including Ethernet connectivity, vector control with FORCE technology, and a control cassette which houses all encoders, controls, and I/O. The 1336-PB-SP22C board is compatible with frames 5 to 10. The 1336-PB-SP22C board is available from Allen-Bradley and it can be used for the replacement of faulty precharge PCBs in compatible Allen-Bradley drives. Precharging is a method of limiting inrush current during the power-up process of a drive. It is implemented to prevent damage to system components and it leads to improved system life and reliability. This Allen-Bradley precharge module contains ESD-sensitive parts and components. Therefore, precautions for static control should be implemented during installation, maintenance, and repair. The absence of static control precautions can lead to component damage.

To minimize the risk of electric shock hazard during the replacement of a faulty precharge board, the mains power to the drive or drives must be disabled. Furthermore, the voltage on the DC bus capacitors of the drives must be allowed to completely discharge. Failure to completely discharge the DC bus capacitors can also lead to electric shock. The replacement of a faulty precharge board with the 1336-PB-SP22C board should only be performed by trained and experienced technicians because improper module installation can lead to reduced product life or damage. Static-safe containers should be used to transport the 1336-PB-SP22C board before and after replacement. One 1336-PB-SP22C board kit is required per drive.
