The Allen-Bradley 1336-SN-SP20A printed circuit snubber board is a precharge snubber board for the common bus type 1336 Plus, Plus II, Force, and Impact adjustable frequency AC drives. This precharge snubber is located on the precharge board within the drive’s circuit board platform, and it helps provides limiting action to inrush currents during start-up. The 1336-SN-SP20A snubber board comes as an assembly kit comprising 1 precharge snubber board and an installation kit. The 1336-SN-SP20A snubber board is compatible with the G and H frame drives with 300 to 800 Horsepower output power rating, and it is designed for a circuit with 460 Volts AC or 575 Volts AC operating ratings.
Diodes on the 1336-SN-SP20A snubber board can be tested for the best working conditions by using a testing meter set at diode mode and comparing readings to the table readings. It is recommended to replace the snubber board if the meter readings do not match the table reading. To replace the snubbers, turn off the power from the drive and check for the absence of control voltage at the TB11 terminals and for zero voltage at the TB terminals (+DC and -DC). Carefully remove the main control board mounting plate, the gate driver mounting plate, and the entire circuit board platform to gain easy access to the snubber board. Detach the 2 jumper connectors on the board and remove the screws fastening the snubber board to the snubber bus bars. Replace the old snubber with the 1336-SN-SP20A spare snubber board and couple the drive by following the steps in the reverse order of the removal process.
