The Allen-Bradley 1336-SN-SP3A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or converter snubber board is a replacement snubber board kit for the Allen-Bradley 1336 Plus, 1336 Impact, 1336 Force, and 1336 Plus II drives’ converter components. The Allen-Bradley 1336-SN-SP3A Printed Circuit Board is a stand-alone printed circuit board replacement part that ships in a package that comes with 1 snubber board (quantity = 1) and 15 factory-supplied fastening screws. It is compatible with the Allen-Bradley 1336 D-Frame drives in the Plus, Plus II, Impact, and Force drive series that have 180 Amps current ratings and 60 Horsepower to 150 Horsepower rated nominal drive output power ratings. Some 1336 drives need more than 1 printed circuit board or converter snubber board like the 1336-SN-SP3A Printed Circuit Board to be installed on them so that they can operate properly.



 



The Allen-Bradley 1336-SN-SP3A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or converter snubber board is located on the host drive’s SCR module within the inverter bay, and it helps limit unnecessary “DV/DT” triggering (transient voltage) of the SCR. Although the exact installation position for the printed circuit board may differ for different 1336 drive models, most converter snubber boards are installed close to the 1336 drive’s bridge heatsink on the converter assembly that is also known as the converter bay. The Allen-Bradley 1336-SN-SP3A Printed Circuit Board is not backward-compatible with the Allen-Bradley 1336-SN-SP2A Printed Circuit Board or with previous printed circuit board or converter snubber board versions, and it can be used only as a stand-alone converter snubber board replacement for the designated 1336 drive models. The 1336-SN-SP3A Board is field-installable and it can be used to replace only converter snubber boards with the same specifications. To install the 1336-SN-SP3A board, first turn off the power from the drive. Check for zero voltage on the +DC and –DC points of the TB1 terminals and also check for zero control voltage. Loosen the screws fastening the snubber board bus bars to the bracket and detach the old snubber board. Attach the new board and connect the bus bar to the new snubber board. The 1336-SN-SP3A board is designed for factory use and it has the same environmental rating as all 1336 drive parts.
