The Allen Bradley 74101-169-99 (alternate part number 1336-BDB-SP64D, which is the replacement for the obsolete 1336-BDB-SP64A) is the gate driver board/power supply or PCB for the 1336 Force series of drives from Allen-Bradley. It is available as a spare part (a quantity of one is required per drive) and it is compatible with the 3 HP, 460V (Series C & up) drives from the 1336 Force product line. Input/output power connections are made on TB1 (terminal block 1) on the 74101-169-99 for 1-30 HP drives. Their typical efficiency is rated at 97.5% and Frame B drives are the only ones equipped with input inductors. The 1336 drives should operate at ambient temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 °C and be stored at a -40 to 70 °C temperature range, even with a 74101-169-99 board installed.



Since very high voltage levels are present in the drives, repair and maintenance should not be carried out by untrained staff or without the aid of a troubleshooting manual, service manual, or manufacturer assistance. To prevent operator death or injury, the power to the 1336 Force drive must be disconnected prior to the removal or installation of the 74101-169-99 gate driver board. Drives should not be serviced until the bus voltage has dropped to 0V (the bus voltage can be measured at the -DC/+DC brake terminals). It is also recommended that servicing technicians wear a grounding strap (wrist-type) to prevent any possible damage to drive components which could occur due to Electro-Static Discharge (ESD). The wrist strap should be connected to drive chassis. Any faulty boards should be immediately inserted into conductive packets after removal from drives. The 1336 Force is a range of microprocessor-controlled adjustable frequency AC drives which offers output power ratings from 0.75 to 485 kW (1 to 650 HP) at 0-250 Hz torque and it offers regulation to within 0.0001% of the motor’s top speed and within ±5% of the motor’s torque rating. The 74101-169-99 gate driver board helps to regulate the speed and torque of the AC drive that it is attached to.
