The Allen-Bradley 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4 1336 PLUS II series drive is a 40 Horsepower-rated AC-powered motor control drive. Its modular architecture allows the operators to install optional hardware modules and match the 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4  drive to specific application and system requirements. The drive has 2 slots for analog I/O modules, a single slot for a communication module, 1 slot for an HMI module, and 1 slot for a control interface. Only the slot for the control interface module is occupied on the 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4 drive by default. The control interface is a TTL contact interface with 9 control inputs. Because the drive does not have an HMI module, the blank plate that is provided with the drive must be installed to close the opening for an HMI module that is located on the front of the drive. Failure to install the blank plate can lead to electric shock because the blank plate prevents access to high-voltage drive components.

The Allen-Bradley 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4 1336 PLUS II series motor control drive is designed to operate at 380 to 480 Volts AC 3-phase input voltage. It is a Size C frame drive, and it only works with 3-phase AC input voltage. The 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4  drive’s NEMA Type 1 protective enclosure is IP 20-rated. The NEMA enclosure is also EMC compatible, which means that it has been tested to comply with the council directive 89/336 EMC directive. The drive operates in English. The 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4 drive is fitted with a heatsink that helps it with heat dissipation. The heatsink is attached to the backside of the drive. The cables that connect to the 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4 can be routed through holes that are provided on the bottom of the drive’s housing. The 1336F-B040-AE-EN-L4 motor control drive is designed for vertical mounting.
