The Allen-Bradley 1336F-B040-AE-ES 1336 PLUS II series drive is a modular AC-powered motor control drive. Allen-Bradley has designed the drive for industrial and commercial motor control applications. The drive is designed to work in combination with a servo motor. The 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive can be used to control motors rated for up to 40 Horsepower. The operators can connect the drive directly to the AC mains in safe environments. Even though direct connection is supported, the operators can also use suitable protection devices to protect the 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive from anomalies in the input supply. Examples of such devices include isolation transformers that protect the drive against voltage anomalies, and circuit breakers or fuses that protect the drive against current anomalies. Other protective devices can also be used to protect the motor that is connected to the AC drive. The minimum input voltage rating of the 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive is 380 Volts AC and the maximum input voltage rating is 480 Volts AC.

The Allen-Bradley 1336F-B040-AE-ES 1336 PLUS II series motor control drive can operate in English or Spanish. The 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive is not equipped with an HMI module, which means that the slot in the front of the drive that is designated for housing an HMI is open. To prevent accidental access to live drive components in the HMI slot, a blank cover that comes with the drive must be installed to cover the slot and to keep out dirt. The 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive is shipped in an IP 20-rated NEMA Type 1 enclosure that is EMC-compatible. The 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive should always be mounted vertically. Because it is a convection-cooled drive, there needs to be suitable spacing on each side of the mounted drive for smooth airflow between the drive and other nearby devices. The minimum horizontal and vertical spacing recommendations for the 1336F-B040-AE-ES drive are 6 inches and 4 inches, respectively.
