It is part of the Allen-Bradley 1336 PLUS II AC drive product line. It also has an intuitive user interface that makes commissioning and monitoring the drive easy, and which supports easy maintenance. In addition to advanced sensorless vector control technology for advanced motor speed and torque control, this drive has a more standard but highly flexible Volts per Hertz control technology option. The 1336F-B040-AN-EN-GM1-HCS1-LA2-LA5 has a super-twist backlit LCD screen on its factory-installed Human-Machine Interface (HMI) module that makes it easy to monitor the system performance and diagnostics. The keypad on the HMI enables simple drive control and the HMI supports a parameter uploading and downloading function.

This drive also supports a maximum output power rating of 40 Horsepower and a maximum current rating of 60 Amps when it is used with constant torque load applications. The 1336F-B040-AN-EN-GM1-HCS1-LA2-LA5 drive supports an overload capacity of up to 150% for 1 minute in constant torque applications. Due to the drive's open-style (IP 00) enclosure, it can operate safely at temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius but it should only be used in clean indoor environments. The 1336F-B040-AN-EN-GM1-HCS1-LA2-LA5 drive comes with 2 analog interfaces, 1 of which has 2 isolated and configurable inputs and the other of which has 1 isolated pulse input, 1 non-isolated pulse output, and 1 single-ended and non-isolated configurable output.
