The Allen-Bradley 1336F-B050-AA-EN-GM5-HASB-L5 drive is an AC-powered motor control drive from the 1336 PLUS II product line. It can be used for motor control in commercial and industrial applications. Because it is rated for 50 Horsepower of maximum nominal output power, it can be used with industrial motors with maximum Horsepower ratings of 50 Horsepower. The 1336F-B050-AA-EN-GM5-HASB-L5 drive is designed to be connected to a 3-phase AC mains that can supply it with 380 to 480 Volts AC of input voltage. Even though the drive supports direct connection to the input voltage source, there are situations where the use of an isolation transformer is warranted. An isolation transformer should be installed if the input voltage source commonly experiences spikes, transients, or overvoltage that is induced by lightning. The 1336F-B050-AA-EN-GM5-HASB-L5 drive is protected from excessively high and low input voltages and protected from excessively high and low DC bus voltages by tripping mechanisms. The drive comes in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure with an IP 20 protection rating and the users can install the drive in the vertical orientation.

The IP 20 enclosure does not provide the Allen-Bradley 1336F-B050-AA-EN-GM5-HASB-L5 1336 PLUS II series motor control drive with a high degree of protection against dust or with any protection from liquids. As a result, the drive should be mounted inside a cabinet that can protect it from significant amounts of dust, liquids, and other pollutants in many operating environments. It is also recommended for the 1336F-B050-AA-EN-GM5-HASB-L5 drive to be installed by professional technicians who are familiar with 1336 PLUS II drives to ensure that it is properly installed and wired. When the drive needs maintenance, the technicians must allow the DC bus on the drive to discharge fully prior to any maintenance activity to avoid electric shock. The 1336F-B050-AA-EN-GM5-HASB-L5 drive does not feature an HMI. Instead, a blank plate is provided with the drive to cover the opening in the front part of the drive where an HMI can be installed later. However, the drive does come with a control interface.
