1336-B003-ECD-S1

The 1336-B003-ECD-S1 is an adjustable frequency module manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The adjustable frequency AC drive has frame dimensions of 11.3 inches by 8.76 inches by 18.75 inches and its wire size is 16 millimeters (or 6 American wire gauge). The 1336-B003-ECD-S1 belongs to the Classic family of the Allen-Bradley’s adjustable frequency AC drives. The mounting plate on the control board has a drive nameplate and it contains all the necessary information users need. For example, it has the catalog number, phase and torque information, etc. “B003” in the part number represents the drive rating code and it also shows how much current (amperage) it can use. In fact, all “B003” AC drives have been designed to operate at 3 different levels of current input. The 1336-B003-ECD-S1 offers 6.0 Amps of output current at a normal input supply, whereas, at 380 Volts AC, it offers 3.9 kVA. It also operates at 415 Volts AC and it produces 4.3 kVA. At 460 Volts AC, its output goes up to 4.8 kVA. The maximum torque produced by the Allen-Bradley 1336-B003-ECD-S1 reaches up to 2.26 N-m or 20 pounds on an inch. Because of the high energy output, it is recommended that a copper wire rated at 75 degrees Celsius should be used for all 1336-B003 AC drives.

“ECD” is the enclosure type of the 1336-B003-ECD-S1. The first letter, “E”, represents the enclosure code and the “C” indicates that the drive has a NEMA Type 4 enclosure. These types of enclosures are meant for both indoor and outdoor use and they offer protection against hazardous substances. The ECD enclosure offers protection against rain, snow, steel, splashing water, and hose-directed water. It means that the Allen-Bradley 1336-B003-ECD-S1 can be used in places prone to extreme temperature changes and other hazards. Finally, the “S1” code indicates that the Allen-Bradley 1336-B003-ECD-S1 adjustable frequency AC drive features a serial port connector which may be handy for the engineers and operators to attach a device and get the information from the drive. While troubleshooting, it is recommended that the drive’s speed reference should be at the minimum. The motor should be disconnected from the mechanical load and its rotation direction should be the proper direction.
