The 1336-B005-EAD-S1 is manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It is an adjustable frequency AC drive that belongs to the 1336 series of frequency drives. The Allen-Bradley adjustable frequency AC drive is a heavy-duty product that has a maximum torque of 2.26 N-m which is equivalent to 20 pounds on an inch. Moreover, the operating frequency of this drive lies between 50 and 60 Hertz. The 1336-B005-EAD-S1 features a 11.13 inches by 8.76 inches by 18.75 inches frame, which requires substantial installation space. The 1336-B005-EAD-S1 AC drive has the rating code “B005” which is an upgrade from the code “B003”. It means that the B005 drive not only has the features that are present in the B003 drives, its energy output is higher. The character “B” means that users can connect the drive with either 380 Volts, 415 Volts, or 460 Volts AC input supply. Its energy output varies with the input voltage. The 1336-B005-EAD-S1 generates 6.3 kVA at 380 Volts AC input, 6.9 kVA at 415 Volts AC input, and 7.6 kVA at 460 Volts AC input.

The additional option of “S1” is a factory-installed option which indicates that the drive features a serial port connector to connect the drive board to another. As far as the enclosure is concerned, the 1336-B005-EAD-S1 features a NEMA Type 1 enclosure which is suitable for indoor systems only. The NEMA Type 1 enclosure offers limited protection. It guards the drive components against falling dirt and solid substances larger than 12 millimeters in size. But it cannot protect the device from water. So, the drive with the NEMA Type 1 enclosure should not be used near a water supply, and external protection should be applied if there is no alternative. Take all the safety precautions before accessing the drive components for troubleshooting or removal purpose. The drive components, even when switched off, may contain hazardous voltage, so make sure that the neon light on the drive board is not illuminated. Remove all the power supplies to the drive and ensure that the terminal block TB1 shows zero voltage. Wear grounding straps before removing and installing the drive components.
