1336-B025-EAF

The 1336-B025-EAF is an adjustable frequency AC drive manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The AC drive belongs to the classic family of Allen-Bradley 1336 drives and it can be upgraded to modern versions as well. The drive comes in a large frame of 11.13 inches by 8.76 inches by 18.75 inches and its maximum torque is more than 2.26 N-m (about 20 pounds on an inch).  The Allen-Bradley 1336-B025-EAF has a drive rating of “B” which means that it can run on any of the three input voltages: 380 Volts AC, 415 Volts AC, and 460 Volts AC. The AC drive has 41.0 Amps output. It produces 27.0 kVA at 380 Volts AC input, 29.0 kVA at 415 Volts AC input, and 29.0 kVA at 460 Volts AC input. The “B” rating also shows that the drive has a frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz and it has 3 phases. To maintain the flow of such a high voltage, the drive should have 75 degrees Celsius copper wiring and the wire size should be 16 millimeters (6 American Wire Gauge). Another feature of the Allen-Bradley 1336-B025-EAF adjustable frequency AC drive is its enclosure. The enclosure type helps to determine which type of environment and surrounding is suitable for the drive.

The 1336-B025-EAF features a NEMA Type 1 enclosure that has a protection index rating of 20. According to the standards of the National Electrical Manufacturer Association, Type 1 enclosures are meant for indoor use and the protection index suggests that the enclosure offers limited protection against external hazards. It protects the drive components from falling dirt and solid substances larger than 12 millimeters in size, but it cannot guard against water penetration or small dust particles. The EAF enclosure has an Amp rating code of 25 or 30 which indicates that it can sustain high-voltage discharge when the drive is running. The 1336-B025-EAF has quite a few components attached to it, and some of the components, like printed logic circuits, are quite vulnerable to high voltage. Therefore, it is recommended that the drive should be turned off before servicing or replacing parts in order to avoid damages to these system components. The electrostatic discharge can reach up to 1.6 kVA DC at terminals, so well-calibrated equipment should be used to measure the voltage at the terminals before dissembling the drive.
