The SP-140142 kit is a spare part kit from Allen-Bradley which contains a bridge rectifier (diode). Three SP-140142 kits are required per host drive. The SP-140142 kit is designed for use with Allen-Bradley 1336 drives with the following specifications: constant torque, 380 to 460 Volts AC input, and 40 Horsepower to 50 Horsepower output. The function of a bridge rectifier is to convert AC power into DC power. Bridge rectifier kits like the SP-140142 kit use diodes which are semiconductor devices which allow the flow of current in only one direction. A diode ideally has zero resistance in one direction and infinite resistance in the reverse direction. A semiconductor diode basically functions like a one-way switch for the current. Only technicians familiar with operation of 1336 AC drives should be involved in their operation and maintenance.

The 1336 drives contain ESD sensitive parts. Therefore, ESD precautions should be followed when handling drive components such as the SP-140142 bridge rectifier kit. These ESD precautions include use of grounded wrist straps, use of static shielded containers for storing components, and working in static free areas. Unused 1336 drives should be stored in a clean and dry area where the ambient temperature is maintained between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. The 1336 drives should be protected from corrosive elements. The Allen-Bradley 1336 drives support multiple input voltages including 380 to 460 Volts AC and 500 to 600 Volts AC. Furthermore, the 1336 drives are available in multiple enclosure types including IP 00 (open style), IP 20 (NEMA Type 1), IP 56 (NEMA Type 4), and IP 54 (NEMA Type 12).
