About SP-142695
The Allen-Bradley SP-142695 Bus Capacitor Kit has been designed and manufactured as a replacement part kit for the Allen-Bradley 1336 series adjustable frequency AC drives. This kit includes 1 capacitor for the device’s DC bus capacitor bank. Like any other capacitor, the Allen-Bradley SP-142695 Bus Capacitor is made of 2 conductive metal plaques separated from each other by a mixture of non-conducting or dielectric materials. These capacitors are part of the IGBT transistor control stage of the 1336 adjustable frequency drive, and this makes them a fundamental part of the correct operation of the device. Their main function is to serve as a filter for the AC component of the supply voltage being converted into a DC wave by the drive’s internal circuitry. Power regeneration often affects the capacitors in the DC Bus, which is why spare parts kits like the SP-142695 Bus Capacitor Kit are essential. Up to of these kits are required per drive because each kit only contains 1 capacitor and each drive uses 6 capacitors.
The Allen-Bradley 1336 SP-142695 Bus Capacitor Kit is the ideal solution for replacements when a single capacitor on the DC bus in a 1336 drive has been damaged. Before installing the Allen-Bradley SP-142695 Bus Capacitor Kit in the host 1336 adjustable frequency drive, all the power to the adjustable frequency drive needs to be properly disconnected. Electrostatic discharge or ESD is a possible risk, so it is strongly recommended to test the voltage between the capacitor terminals prior to handling the drive or capacitor. If there is some ESD found in the capacitor, it should be discharged by using a suitable electrical resistor to transform the stored electrical power into heat and dissipate it. The maximum voltage rating of 600 Volts AC should never be exceeded, and the capacitor terminals should never be shorted.
