The SP-142513 kit is a 1336 spare parts kit from Allen-Bradley. It contains a transistor with snubbers designed for use with the Allen-Bradley 1336VT AC drives. The SP-142513 kit is specifically designed for use with drives designed for 3-phase 380 to 460 Volts AC input voltage and 75 to 100 Horsepower output ratings. Six SP-142513 kits are required for each drive. Transistor modules and snubbers are located on the heatsink behind the base drive mounting plate. The power to the drive must be disconnected before it is disassembled. A bus charge neon indicator on the drive provides a visual indication that voltage is present on the bus. The drive should not be serviced or have the SP-142513 kit installed until the bus voltage has been allowed to discharge completely.

The bus voltage can be verified on the -DC and +DC test points which are located on terminal block TB1. A grounding strap should be worn when servicing 1336 drives. Failure to follow the relevant ESD precautions can lead to drive damage. The recommended sequence of steps for removing large transistor snubbers and replacing them with transistors from the SP-142513 kit is as follows: remove the wires connected to the stake-on connectors, remove the screws fastening the snubber to the heatsink, loosen the snubber bracket while retaining the strap screw, and finally remove the snubber from its bracket. The recommended sequence of steps for removing a snubber connector to faulty transistor is as follows: remove the Zener diode wire from the stake-on connector and then remove the screws fastening the snubber to the faulty transistor. All repair and maintenance activity on AC drives, including installing the SP-142513 kit transistor, should only be performed by experienced technicians.
