It is a solid-state drive and only technicians who know the 1386 DC servo drive system and all of its compatible devices well. An incorrect installation can damage the 1386-AA06 servo drive, cause injuries to the users, or reduce the drive's power and output. The 1386-AA06 servo drive can also be damaged by ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), so the qualified technicians who are responsible for installing the servo drive should take all the necessary ESD precations. This 1386 servo drive is designed to be part of the Allen-Bradley 1386 DC servo drive system, which is a multi-axis drive system where all the drives in it can use just 1 power source and that can control the position and rotation of industrial machines.

The Allen-Bradley 1386-AA06 servo drive has red LED lights that illuminate as a warning to the users if there is an error in the drive. These red LEDs are the voltage error (VE) LED, the ground fault (GV) LED, the excess current (EC) LED, and the surge current (SC) LED, and each has a specific error that it warns the users about. It also has several green LED lights to indicate which kinds of power that the drive receiving. The green LEDs are the 15 Volts DC logic power (PV) LED, the -15 Volts DC logic power (MV)  LED, the 115 Volts AC control power (AC) LED, and the DC Bus voltage (PB) LED.
