The Allen Bradley 1395-A71-D2-P11 microprocessor digital DC drive is a regenerative type of drive with 30 Hp (22 kW) of power. Furthermore, the drive is part of a very popular Allen Bradley-Rockwell Automation Bulletin 1395 series of products. The 1395 drive’s intended purpose is to provide outstanding speed control and regulation. The drive requires a three-phase input voltage of 230 Volts AC (50 to 60 Hertz) with AC line fuses. Amongst standard features of the drive are DC contactor, regulation of speed in a field, fused AC input, protective features and programmable functions. Programmable functions provide better control with different speed adjustments and presets. The 1395-A71-D2-P11 model comes with a contactor for dynamic braking and a discrete 24 Volt DC adapter on port A.

The 1395 drive can be even more powerful in combination with other Allen Bradley peripheral devices such as PLC or programming terminal. The parameters of the drive determine the way control functions are set up and they can be easily changed to the programming terminal. The drive should be stored in a clean and dry place with a temperature range of 0 to 65 degrees Celsius (32 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit).  Also, the 1395-A71-D2-P11 drive must be mounted in vertical position to avoid the shock hazard. Relative non-condensing humidity levels when using this drive should be between 5% and 95%.
