The 1397-B005N-DS050-HAP-PE digital DC drive is a compact, non-regenerative DC drive from Allen-Bradley. It belongs to the 1397 series of DC drives. This DC drive comes with 460 Volts AC of input voltage, 50/60 Hertz of input frequency, and 5 Horsepower of output power. It has 500 Volts DC of armature voltage and 10 Amps of armature current. The DC field voltage and current of the drive are 300 Volts DC and 10 Amps, respectively. The 1397-B005N-DS050-HAP-PE drive's short circuit rating is 5000 Amps. It comes with a pulse encoder kit and an AC line disconnect as the control options. It has a programmer-only human-machine interface option. Its programmable features include full torque at zero speed, user-selectable reference input, and speed operation with a field current regulator.

The 1397-B005N-DS050-HAP-PE DC drive consists of a third user-configurable outer control loop/process control loop that can be used to control the speed of a motor with torque limits. The drive comes with an open chassis construction and the users have the responsibility to select a proper enclosure for their application needs. The drive's compact design allows for easy installation and it can be mounted on or in the chassis. It has programming and diagnostic features that make the drive setup and maintenance processes easy. The 1397-B005N-DS050-HAP-PE DC drive has an IP 20 rated NEMA Type 1 human-machine interface module. Speed loop auto-tuning can only be performed on drives with either pulse encoder feedback or analog tachometer feedback. Use the EEPROM mode in the programming terminal to avoid the loss of data when power is removed from the drive. The parameters of the drive must be set by a qualified person to verify the values or accuracy of the parameters according to the requirements of the drive's intended application.
