The 1397-B030N-HA2 drive is a non-regenerative DC drive that is part of the 1397 series of DC drives. This drive series has been launched by Allen-Bradley. Digital drives control the DC motor speed, they control every application that is performed, and they control the efficiency of the equipment. This drive provides logic and control functions that help enhance the application process and the life of the motor since the drive provides programmed speed changes that do not interfere with the physical status of the motor. The Allen-Bradley 1397-B030N-HA2 non-regenerative DC drive operates with 4 quadrants and it does not require switching contactors. These quadrants are the ones that deliver forward and reverse torque. Before the installation of the drive, some tools are needed. These tools are an AC line filter, an AC line inductor, a mounting panel, and electrical cabinet. The cabinet needs to be selected according to the specifications of the drive. One of the main requirements is that the cabinet has a good electrically conductive surface, free of any insulating coating and that establishes a good panel for the drive.
The Allen-Bradley 1397-B030N-HA2 non-regenerative DC drive has a voltage rating of 460 Volts AC and a Horsepower output rating of 30 Horsepower (equivalent to 33 kilowatts). It is meant to be installed with a compatible motor. This drive must not be exposed to dust, dirt, and caustic vapors. Also, extremely high temperatures must be avoided, If the ambient temperature around the drive exceeds 55 degrees Celsius, ventilation equipment must be added to the drive and motor. Overheating can shut down the 1397-B030N-HA2 DC drive suddenly and this may damage it or cause applications to malfunction or data to be lost.
