The 1397-B030R drive is a regenerative DC drive whose main purpose is to control DC induction motors. This drive has been designed by Allen-Bradley and it has been launched as a control solution for multiple industries. This drive can operate in environments with an altitude of up to 3300 feet above sea level without needing to be derating and it can also operate at an altitude of up to 10,000 feet if it is derated (it must be derated by at least 3% for every 1000 feet of altitude). The Allen-Bradley 1397-B030R regenerative DC drive operates with a voltage of 460 Volts AC along with a Horsepower rating of 30 Horsepower. This drive also uses a nominal frequency of 50 to 60 cycles per second. This frequency has a variation of +/- 2 cycles nominal. The drive has a service factor of 1.0 continuous and an overload capacity of 150% of the full load rating for 1 minute.
The Allen-Bradley 1397-B030R regenerative DC drive has an efficiency rating of 98.6% when it operates within its rated load and speed. Its specification speed range consists of a 100:1 speed relation based on its rated load and speed. This drive performs speed regulation through the use of a tachometer. When it comes to its installation, a cabinet must be selected that fits the drive's dimensions and environmental specifications. This cabinet needs to be able to enhance the functioning of the drive and to do this, it must have a sturdy surface that supports the drive and the necessary space and capacity to let the drive release heat and ventilate properly. The 1397-B030R drive is sensitive to electrostatic discharge, and precautions need to be taken during installation to avoid static.
