The Allen-Bradley 1397-FS3010 card is an enhanced field power supply card used in 230 to 460 Volts 1397 DC drives with a DC current rating of 10 Amps. This power supply card enables the users to have greater control over the field output of the 1397 DC drives, and even to directly match the rated DC motor field voltage ratings. Like any printed circuit board (PCB), the Allen-Bradley 1397-FS3010 enhanced field power supply card contains parts and assemblies that are sensitive to ESD (Electrostatic Discharges). Static control precautions such as wearing a properly grounded wrist strap when handling, installing, testing, servicing, or repairing this card. If ESD control precautions are not followed, this power supply card may be damaged beyond repair. It is also important to disconnect, lockout, and tag all the incoming power to the drive before proceeding with any installation or maintenance activity.



 



The motor speed control method provided by the Allen-Bradley 1397-FS3010 enhanced field power supply card is the field control method, which reduces the field current (or weakens the field) for gaining motor speed or increases the field current (strengthens the field) for lowering the motor's speed. Unlike armature-controlled motors, field controlled motors can work at speeds above the normal range. The 1397-FS3010 enhanced field power supply card also provides two 240 Volts DC field voltage sources on 230 Volts AC rated drives. By using this power source, the host DC drive will have the means to match many different field voltages without requiring an additional transformer
